Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Config, including related applications, feeds, profiles, submission flows, moderation features, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement and must comply with applicable law when using the Services. You are responsible for all activity occurring through your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

We may suspend, restrict, reclaim, rename, or terminate usernames or accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, impersonation prevention, inactivity, operational reasons, or platform integrity.

3. The Services

Config is a social platform for turning public car configurator links or share codes into drafts, posts, images, profiles, comments, votes, and brand-community feed content. Features may change over time, may be experimental, and may be unavailable, restricted, delayed, removed, or disabled at any time.

We are not obligated to continue any feature, brand, source, importer, storage option, moderation channel, or account tier.

4. User Content and Public Submissions

"User Content" includes any information, profile data, comments, uploads, submissions, source links, share codes, draft data, published posts, reports, messages, or other material you submit, generate, or make available through the Services.

You represent and warrant that:

• you have the rights, permissions, and legal basis necessary to submit the content;
• your submissions do not violate law, contract, intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or platform rights;
• you will not submit confidential, stolen, deceptive, or access-restricted material; and
• you are responsible for the accuracy and legality of submitted source links, images, and metadata.

5. License You Grant Us

To operate the Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, adapt, modify, format, translate, create derivative technical versions of, display, perform, distribute, publish, process, analyze, and otherwise use your User Content for the purpose of providing, improving, promoting, securing, and enforcing the Services.

This license includes the right to:

• generate thumbnails, previews, reformatted layouts, and extracted metadata;
• display content in public feeds, profiles, search, community pages, moderation surfaces, and marketing materials relating to the Services;
• preserve provenance and source references, confidence scores, and workflow diagnostics;
• review and analyze content with automated and human systems for product quality, abuse prevention, ranking, moderation, and support; and
• retain copies as reasonably necessary for backups, legal compliance, investigations, disputes, platform protection, and recordkeeping.

This license continues for as long as your content or derivative operational copies are retained under our Privacy Policy, except to the extent applicable law requires earlier deletion.

6. Imported Sources, Third-Party Content, and Rights

The Services may process public share links, configurator pages, source metadata, and images originating from third-party sources. We do not guarantee that any third-party source, image, specification, or price remains available, accurate, licensed, or suitable for republication.

Manufacturer images, where shown, are intended to load from the original source and to include source attribution and a link back to the original page. In some cases we may stream the original-source response through a compatibility relay without permanently storing or transforming the image. Source attribution does not create permission, ownership, endorsement, license, or a waiver of any rights. We may disable embeds by default, block sources that are not reviewed, and remove images or posts after a rights notice.

We may refuse, disable, remove, reformat, replace, preserve, or review imported content, and we may stop supporting any brand or source at any time. We may also act on takedown notices or rights complaints in our sole discretion or where legally required.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Services to:

• break the law or encourage others to do so;
• infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, database, or contractual rights;
• submit malware, malicious automation, scraping abuse, credential attacks, fraud, spam, or rate-limit evasion;
• misrepresent identity, affiliation, ownership, or source authenticity;
• harass, threaten, dox, defame, or abuse other users or third parties;
• attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, overload, or bypass security or moderation controls; or
• use the Services or content obtained from them to build competing datasets, spam systems, or abusive automation without our permission.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

We may investigate any conduct or content and may take action without prior notice, including removing content, reducing visibility, disabling imports, freezing accounts, reclaiming usernames, preserving evidence, reporting conduct, or terminating access.

We are not obligated to monitor every item of content, respond to every complaint, or explain every enforcement action. Failure to enforce any provision in one case does not waive our right to enforce it later.

9. Account Termination and Deletion

You may stop using the Services at any time. Where available, account deletion tools may remove your profile and owned social content from active product surfaces, but we may retain information where necessary for backups, legal compliance, disputes, abuse prevention, records, or platform security.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any legitimate business, safety, legal, operational, or policy reason.

10. Availability, Accuracy, and No Warranty

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.

We do not warrant that imported source data, prices, images, extractor outputs, rankings, comments, moderation outcomes, or account features are complete, accurate, current, lawful, or suitable for any decision-making purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Config and its operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunities, or business interruption arising out of or relating to the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the specific paid service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event; or (b) EUR 100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, fraud, or death/personal injury where exclusion is not permitted.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless Config and its operators, affiliates, personnel, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your misuse of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

13. Third-Party Services

The Services may rely on or link to third-party products, sources, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.

14. Changes to the Services or Terms

We may modify the Services or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms become effective when posted unless otherwise stated. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

• If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
• You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a corporate transaction or restructuring.
• These Terms do not create any agency, partnership, employment, or joint venture relationship.
